How to keep track of water quality? Why analyze it?

It’s essential to be aware that a good control and monitoring plan of water quality should always take into account its source and purpose and contamination risks from its origin to the final delivery.

Some examples: Public water network for human consumption; Well water for irrigation of pavement washing; Reclaimed water for industrial processes; Wastewater for treatment and discharge in a natural water body, are some of the uses and most common sources.

In function of: its use, region inserted in, origin and destination of water and contamination risks; are determined or by current legislation or by strict internal quality criteria and frequency recommended and by the parameters to be analyzed in the water to be controlled.

After establishing the plan, it’s important to be aware that a water sample analysis is instantaneous, representing the quality of the water on the day and hour of sampling; therefore, analysis repetition and recommended time intervals of sampling are to be considered for consistency. This allows control of possible contaminations in its source or during treatment processing, due to possible malfunctions during the treatment process.
